I’m M.E. Pickett, but you can call me Mike.

I’m a husband, a father, a writer, and, last and certainly least, a lawyer. I live in Roanoke, Virginia, with my wife, our three kids, and a cat, but I was born and raised in northern California.
I have a B.A. in English Literature from Brigham Young University (Go Cougars!), an M.A. in Publishing and Writing from Emerson College (Go…Lions…I think?), and a J.D. from the University of Texas (Hook ’em Horns!), and I’ve been taught by great writers like Brandon Sanderson, Patrick Madden, and Douglas Whynott.
My writing has appeared in Leading Edge Magazine and…nowhere else…yet. I’m working hard to fix that, so check back to find updates about what I’m up to, or sign up to be added to my email list (no spam, I promise).
Oh, I also run a very small publishing company called Great Pond Press.
Oh, oh, and I just started an online fiction magazine called Lost Colony.
If you would like to follow my endeavors, sign up for my email list. Again, no spam. I promise.
